This little free tool called Glossary Converter does exactly what its name suggests. It converts glossaries from one format to another. Available formats include some Excel formats, the TermBase eXchange format (TBX), and MultiTerm export files (XDT and XML).
Here is a list of the currently supported file formats (Since the tool is mainly targeted at conversions between MultiTerm and Excel, some of these formats are only supported in a basic way, so please read the online help for details): MultiTerm XDT and XML pairs, TBX, UTX, TMX, ODS, GLO, SDL BeGlobal CSV, SDL ETS XML.
In the past, if you wanted to use the Glossary Converter, you needed the appropriate software installed. For example, if you wanted to convert an Excel spreadsheet into a MultiTerm format, you did need to have Excel, LibreOffice, or OpenOffice installed to read the spreadsheet, and you did need to have MultiTerm, or Trados Studio installed to generate the MultiTerm TermBase. This is no longer the case. Below we list some features of this converter. For more details, please refer to the help page.
